A Glimpse into the Past

Tucked away in Eugene's Jefferson Westside neighborhood sits Lincoln School City Park, a charming green oasis spanning just 0.8 acres. You'll come across this pocket park at the corner of West 12th Avenue and Madison Street, right beside the Lincoln School condominiums and a short stroll from the Lane County Fairgrounds.

This little park has an interesting backstory - it was formerly the grounds for Lincoln Elementary School before becoming a public park. In early 2024, the park got a complete makeover, breathing new life into this neighborhood retreat while making it more accessible for all.

Despite its compact footprint, Lincoln School City Park offers several amenities. It's a welcome patch of greenery in this densely populated area, offering a little something for everyone who stops by.

The 2024 renovation brought some wonderful improvements, including a brand-new playground that's sure to delight the little ones. Smooth, paved walking paths now wind their way through the park, well-suited for a leisurely stroll or quick exercise loop. The community garden plots have been expanded too, giving local green thumbs more space to grow their favorite plants. Throughout the redesign process, care was taken to preserve the park's magnificent trees, especially those majestic Bigleaf Maples that give the park its distinct character and much-appreciated shade.
