Oakmont Park

Play & Fun Spaces

Wander into Oakmont Park and you'll find a children's play area that blends classic playground equipment with some modern touches. The spray play feature is a definite highlight - great for those hot summer days when the kiddos need to cool off while still burning energy. There's also a generous sandbox where little ones can get creative with their architectural masterpieces.

Just a few steps away sits a small basketball court where you can shoot some casual hoops or practice your layups. Just a heads-up: there's a two-inch ledge between the cement and sawdust areas that you'll want to watch for, especially with smaller children.

Trails & Green Spaces

Need a moment of peace? The soft-surface walking path winds gently through the park, offering an excellent route for a thoughtful stroll or light exercise. If you're feeling more energetic, the bark chip trail makes for a joint-friendly running surface, with both paths creating convenient loops around the neighborhood.

The landscape here strikes a nice balance - open grassy areas flow into more natural settings, creating varied scenery within this urban oasis. Throughout the park, you'll discover rolling grassy hills nestled under the shade of mature trees - these spots practically beg for a blanket and picnic basket.

Practical Park Perks

Yes, there's a porta potty that's kept in decent shape, however bringing along some hand sanitizer isn't a bad idea. You'll find benches scattered throughout when you need a moment to sit and soak in the surroundings.

Bringing Fido? The park welcomes leashed dogs, and most pet parents are good about cleaning up afterward.

One of the park's charming touches is the community mini library along the walking paths - grab a book and find a shady spot to read for an especially peaceful afternoon.
