Sladden Park

Natural Haven

Situated in Eugene, Oregon, Sladden Park spans 4 acres of neighborhood greenspace in the West region's Whiteaker Community Council area. What makes this park special is its magnificent grove of Douglas fir trees that create a natural canopy overhead. The natural shade is particularly welcome during Oregon's summer heat.

Play & Recreation Spots

Kids have their own little domain here with a children's play area set in sand. Just a heads-up though - the surrounding trees drop seed pouches and other woodland souvenirs, so those little bare feet might want some protection!

For the more active crowd, there's a full-court basketball court where you can shoot hoops and a tennis court for those who prefer racquet sports.

One charming quirk of Sladden Park is its old wading pool. While it no longer holds water, this repurposed space has become an unexpected playground feature where children can run around and let their imaginations flow.

Note that the bathrooms typically close during winter months, but water fountains remain accessible year-round.
