About the Location
Historic Grounds
Established in 1906, Shute Park is the oldest park in Hillsboro, spanning 13 acres. The park is situated at the intersection of SE 10th Avenue and SE Maple Street, along Tualatin Valley Highway.
Large mature trees, including Douglas firs, provide ample shade throughout the grounds. Open grassy areas offer space for picnicking and casual recreation.
Recreation Facilities
A key feature of Shute Park is the Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center (SHARC), which contains both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The indoor facility includes a main pool, wading pool, spa, and dry sauna.
During summer months, an outdoor pool with diving boards is also open to the public.
Park Amenities
The park contains playground equipment for children as well as picnic shelters that can be reserved for gatherings. A softball field and a stage for outdoor performances are additional amenities.
The Hillsboro Public Library has a branch located within Shute Park, providing easy access to books and community resources.
Community Events
Shute Park hosts community events throughout the year, including a free summer concert series called "Showtime at Shute" featuring live music performances on Thursday evenings in July and August.
