Spread across 16.7 acres, Parkway Central Park is a green oasis in the heart of Arlington. The park's expansive open spaces accommodate various casual activities, whether it's tossing a frisbee, having an impromptu picnic, or just lounging on the grass with a good book.

The park's picnic areas come equipped with grills for outdoor cooking while enjoying the fresh air. There's plenty of room for the kids to burn off energy while you're flipping those patties, too.

Playgrounds

Kids of all ages have something to look forward to here. The park has two separate playgrounds: one designed for children ages 2-5, and another with more challenging equipment for children ages 5-12.

A notable feature is the parent/child swing where adults and small children can swing together. The playgrounds have recently been renovated, so you'll come across everything in great condition with modern play equipment.

Park Amenities

When the Texas sun gets a bit too intense, head over to the park's pavilion. This covered area provides welcome shade and represents a gathering spot for everything from family reunions to birthday celebrations. It's first-come, first-served, so arrive early if you're planning an event on busy weekends.

The park includes an outdoor performance area where you might find acoustic guitar sessions or community theater performances, depending on the season. It's a lovely spot to experience local culture in a relaxed setting.

Sports Facilities

While Parkway Central Park doesn't have regulation sports fields, it does offer an informal practice field that's ideal for a casual game of soccer, flag football, or whatever sport you enjoy. It's more about fun than competition here.

Park Setting

The park has an abundance of trees, creating a cool, shaded environment that offers a break from city life. The natural canopy not only provides relief from the heat but also creates a peaceful atmosphere that's well-suited for unwinding.

You'll often see locals walking their dogs along the winding paths that meander through the grounds. Just note that there isn't a dedicated dog park section, so your furry friends will need to stay leashed.

You can enjoy Parkway Central Park daily from 6AM to 10PM. Do keep in mind that there are no public restrooms available, so plan accordingly before spending an extended time here.
