About the Location
A Historic Community Hub
Tucked away in the Carver Heights neighborhood of East Fort Worth, Texas, Martin Luther King Park spans a peaceful 12 acres of community space. Established in 1969, just a year after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the park stands as a living tribute to the iconic civil rights leader.
At the heart of this green sanctuary sits the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, which opened its doors in 1973. The center has become a cornerstone of local life, offering various programs and services that bring neighbors together.
Growing With The Community
The park hasn't remained static over the decades. In 2003, the playgrounds got a well-deserved makeover thanks to Community Development Block Grant funding. Little ones now have safer, more engaging spaces to play and explore.
A few years later in 2006, the Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department took on projects to enhance the walking trails, making morning strolls and evening jogs more enjoyable for everyone.
Your Neighborhood Retreat
Nestled in the heart of Carver Heights, this urban green space provides a welcome breath of fresh air for the community. You'll discover locals enjoying the recreational amenities, participating in community events, or simply soaking in some outdoor time. The park's central location makes it an easy-to-reach destination for families and children from all around the neighborhood.
