Space Exploration Memorials
This small urban green space located in downtown Houston serves as a companion to the larger Tranquillity Park across the street. Little Tranquility Park is notable for its memorials dedicated to space exploration and astronauts who lost their lives in the pursuit of space travel.
The park features a memorial for the astronauts who perished in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986. Additionally, there is a memorial honoring those who died in the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy in 2003.

A prominent feature of Little Tranquility Park is an eight-foot-tall statue of President Lyndon B. Johnson. This statue pays tribute to Johnson's instrumental role in establishing the U.S. space program and NASA.
