About the Location

Location and Initiative

North Gateway Park is a neighborhood park located in Salt Lake City, Utah, within Council District 3 of the Capitol Hill area. The park, along with nearby Warm Springs Park, was selected as part of the Reimagine Neighborhood Parks initiative, which received funding from the Parks, Trails, & Open Space General Obligation Bond approved by voters in November 2022.

The park is situated in northern Salt Lake City. As of 2025, the park is undergoing improvements as part of the GO Bond project, which aims to invest in and activate underutilized parks to increase access to green spaces and quality parks in the area.

Community-Driven Development

North Gateway Park's development is guided by community feedback, project budget considerations, and site limitations. The Salt Lake City Public Lands department has been conducting community engagement efforts to understand desired improvements and to reflect the legacy of various communities, including Native Americans and Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders who once occupied the area.

The park improvements are expected to feature new and enhanced amenities prioritized by residents and designed to celebrate the community it serves. Construction is anticipated to begin as soon as Summer 2026, though this timeline may be subject to change.
