About the Location
Park Overview
Tucked away in a gully between homes in southern West Jordan, Teton Estates Park is a peaceful escape spanning about 1.5 acres. This cozy public space sits nestled in a residential neighborhood in Utah.
Amenities and Features
The park blends open grassy areas with paved walkways, excellent for afternoon picnics, casual frisbee tosses, or just stretching your legs after a long day.
Kids will enjoy the playground equipment that, while not massive, provides plenty of opportunities for climbing, sliding, and making new friends. It's sized just right for the park's intimate setting.
Need some shade? The park's pavilion with six picnic tables and a water fountain offers a great spot to cool off and refuel. Just keep in mind there aren't permanent restrooms here, so plan accordingly.
If you're feeling competitive, grab your racket and head to the tennis court which also features pickleball lines - two sports for the price of one!
Disc Golf Course
A highlight of Teton Estates is its 9-hole disc golf course, which is popular with locals. What makes it special? The course winds through a wooded setting that's pretty rare for the area, offering a refreshing change of scenery for disc golf enthusiasts.
The natural layout incorporates trees and seasonal water challenges from the nearby canal, helping you fine-tune your throwing accuracy. Some holes run alongside Bingham Creek, which sometimes carries water depending on the season, adding an extra layer of challenge.
One of the best things about this course is that you can complete all 9 holes in about an hour, making it fantastic for squeezing in a quick game after work or during a lunch break. It's beginner-friendly but still offers enough technical elements to keep experienced players engaged.
Trail Connections
The park is a gateway to the wider area through its connection to the Bingham Creek Recreation Trail. This access point opens up a world beyond the park's modest boundaries.
The paved trail network connects westward to Bingham Creek Regional Park and eastward to Vista West Park, creating roughly 1.25 miles of connected pathways. It's perfect if you're looking to extend your walk, jog, or bike ride.
Heading west? Be prepared for a gentle incline that offers a subtle but satisfying workout. Just remember to share the path respectfully with others whether they're on foot or wheels.
Natural Environment
The trees and vegetation along the creek create a relatively lush environment. It's a little pocket of nature in the suburban landscape.
During summer, the Welby Jacobs canal curves through the eastern portion of the park and fills with water. If you're visiting with little ones, you'll want to keep them within sight when near this area.
Be aware that the park can get quite windy at times, which might affect your disc golf game or tennis match. And a word to the wise: in fall, the gully area tends to sprout goathead thorns, so it's best to stick to paved paths, especially if you're cycling through.
