Perched atop an underground water reservoir in Renton, Washington, Talbot Hill Reservoir Park spans a modest 2.5 acres. This dual-purpose space functions both as a utility installation and a recreational area where locals can spend some time outdoors.

Sports Facilities

If you're into racket sports, you'll find a few options here. The park houses tennis courts complete with a practice bang-board - ideal for working on that backhand when you can't find a partner.

Jumping on the latest recreational trends, the park has also added three pickleball courts in recent years. Fair warning though: the courts have seen better days. You might encounter some rough patches and occasional puddles after rain, so bring your patience along with your paddle.

Amenities

The amenities at Talbot Hill are pretty basic. There are some picnic tables scattered throughout, however nothing extensive - don't expect the elaborate picnic setups you might find at larger parks nearby.

You'll discover restrooms on-site, which is always a plus for longer visits. Dog owners can bring their furry friends along, but note there aren't any specific dog-friendly features like dedicated play areas or waste stations.

Future Improvements

Here's some good news: Talbot Hill is scheduled for a significant makeover. The Renton City Council has given the green light to renovations expected to kick off in fall 2024.

The upcoming improvements include sprucing up those worn sports courts, adding a new picnic shelter, enhancing the parking situation, installing additional site furnishings, planting new landscaping, and making ADA accessibility improvements. These changes should address the current maintenance issues and make the park more welcoming for everyone.

The park welcomes visitors daily from 7AM to 8PM.
