Westlake Square

Urban Oasis

This little triangular park sits at the junction of Westlake Avenue, Stewart Street, and 6th Avenue, forming a small but welcome part of Seattle's downtown "town square" area. Westlake Square offers a modest breathing space where concrete meets greenery.

The park isn't huge - just a paved triangle bordered by busy streets - but its trees and decorative plants bring a refreshing splash of green to the otherwise urban landscape. It's one of those spots where you can pause for a moment before diving back into city life.

A Glimpse of History

Back in the day, Westlake Square had a bit more going on - a protective canopy, places to sit, and even an underground restroom similar to the historic facilities in Pioneer Square. While some of these features have changed over time, the park remains a downtown landmark.

Getting There

Westlake Square is very easy to find. Sitting right by the South Lake Union Streetcar station, you can hop off public transit and immediately find yourself in this urban pocket park. Its central location makes it an ideal meeting spot or a place to catch your breath during a day of exploring downtown.
