A Place of Remembrance

Found on Madison's southeast side, Veterans Memorial Park spans 5.34 acres of thoughtfully designed space. Part of the Liberty Place subdivision, this neighborhood location came to life in 2004 when local veterans recognized Madison needed a dedicated place to honor those who served.

Honoring Service

At the heart of the park stands a beautifully designed memorial area. Here, a pergola provides shade over a reflective plaza with comfortable seating - an excellent spot to sit quietly and remember.

As you enter, you'll notice the flag corps standing tall, creating a dignified welcome. Instead of going the traditional route with a water fountain, the designers made an eco-friendly choice: solar lights and blue reflective glass create a beautiful effect while keeping maintenance costs down and environmental impact low.

Personal Touches

One of the most moving features is the brick walkway that connects the memorial elements. You can spot personalized bricks purchased through VFW Post 7591 by friends and family of veterans, each one telling a small part of someone's story and creating a collective tribute to service.

Beyond Remembrance

While honoring veterans remains its primary purpose, the park also functions as a wonderful community space. Walking and biking trails wind through the grounds, fantastic for a morning jog or evening stroll.

If you're bringing the kids along, they'll enjoy the playground equipment, while teens and adults might gravitate toward the basketball courts for a quick game.

Natural Retreat

A large open field of green grass stretches toward a wooded area, creating a peaceful backdrop for reflection or recreation. Despite being surrounded by residential homes, the park layout creates a surprising sense of privacy and tranquility.
