Thousand Oaks Community Park is a 35.8-acre recreational area located on Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks, California. The park, which was acquired in 1970, has been developed to offer a wide range of facilities and activities for the local community.
A significant portion of the park, approximately 22 acres, was developed in 1974 to include various amenities. The park is home to the Thousand Oaks Community Center, which serves as a hub for year-round events and activities catering to all age groups, from toddlers to seniors.
One of the park's unique features is the "Ant Hill," a small man-made hill covered with artificial grass that serves as a fun slide area for children. The park also boasts a recently renovated playground, completed in 2022, which includes picnic and insect-themed equipment. The renovation also incorporated ADA improvements to ensure accessibility throughout the playground.
Another distinctive feature of Thousand Oaks Community Park is the Rabbit Flats Disc Golf Course, which spans nine acres on the east side of the park. This course is free to the public and offers a unique recreational opportunity for disc golf enthusiasts.
The park is adjacent to Thousand Oaks High School and provides a diverse range of activities and facilities for visitors of all ages. It is open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, offering ample time for community members to enjoy its various amenities.
