About the Location
Refresh Coming Soon
Located in Aurora, Colorado, Kingsborough Park is a cozy suburban green space in the midst of a makeover. If you've visited recently, you've probably noticed the construction activity - the park is getting some well-deserved TLC! The renovation plans include a new playground with accessible surfacing that will cater to little ones from 2 to 12 years old.
Accessibility is a major focus of this refresh, with new concrete ADA-compliant walkways being added to ensure everyone can enjoy what the park has to offer. There's also a new shelter in the works, which will provide a welcome bit of shade for picnics or just taking a breather during your visit.
Park Features
Kingsborough is definitely what you'd call a humble neighborhood park - nothing fancy, but that's part of its charm. The playground area is modest and currently awaiting its upgrade (including that new slide), but it still offers a place for kids to burn off some energy.
Feeling hungry after all that play? The park comes equipped with picnic tables and a BBQ grill for impromptu outdoor meals. On those scorching Colorado summer days, you'll appreciate the shaded spots scattered around the grounds. They're great for cooling off while watching the kids play or before continuing along the connecting trail.
Dog-Friendly Spot
If you're a dog parent, you'll be happy to know that Kingsborough Park welcomes your furry friends. While they need to stay on leash, the open areas provide plenty of space for your pup to sniff and explore. The park's connection to a nearby trail makes it a nice stopping point during longer walks with your four-legged buddy.
Good to Know
Being a good neighbor is important here, especially when it comes to noise. Aurora city code keeps things peaceful by limiting sound to 55 decibels during daylight hours and 45 decibels after 9 p.m.
Like all Aurora parks, Kingsborough follows the usual city rules - dogs must be leashed unless in designated dog park areas (which this isn't), wildlife feeding is prohibited (yes, even those tempting geese), and fires are only allowed in designated or personal grills placed on dirt, concrete, or asphalt (not on the grass).
One thing to plan ahead for: there are no public restrooms at this park, so you might want to make a pit stop before your visit.
