About the Location

Unique Location

Cobbham Triangle Park is a small green space located at the intersection of Prince Avenue, Cobb Street, and Harris Street in Athens, Georgia. Situated within the Historic Cobbham neighborhood, this triangular park serves as a pleasant community gathering spot.

The park features a grassy area with trees providing shade, making it a suitable place for relaxation and casual recreation. Its location at the convergence of three streets gives it a unique shape and makes it a recognizable landmark in the area.

Development History

In 2014, the Historic Cobbham Foundation, with support from Piedmont College (now Piedmont University), the Riverview Foundation, and Koons Environmental Design, began developing the park. This collaborative effort aimed to enhance the neighborhood's green spaces and preserve its historic character.

The park's development was completed in 2021, with Piedmont College donating the park to the Historic Cobbham Foundation. This transfer ensures that the park remains a community asset, managed by local stakeholders invested in its maintenance and preservation.
