Historic Fourth Ward Park is a 17-acre urban green space located in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. The park was developed as part of the Atlanta BeltLine project and officially opened in 2011.
The centerpiece of the park is a 2-acre lake that functions as a stormwater detention basin. This lake can hold up to 5 million gallons of water, helping to alleviate flooding issues in the surrounding area.
Trails and Amenities
The lake is surrounded by a 0.25-mile walking trail, providing visitors with a scenic route for exercise and leisure.
In addition to its environmental functions, the park offers various recreational amenities. The park includes an amphitheater that can seat up to 500 people, used for community events, concerts, and performances.
For families, there is a playground and a splash pad that operates seasonally from May to October.
