Cypress Park
About Cypress Park
Park Overview
Positioned in Southeast Boise, Cypress Park spreads across 7 acres of green space that local residents have come to cherish. This park offers a refreshing escape from the hustle without having to venture far from home.
The park has generous open grassy areas where you can toss a frisbee, practice your soccer skills, or simply lie back and watch clouds drift by. A winding walking path cuts through the greenery, meant for your morning jog or an evening stroll to clear your mind.
What makes Cypress Park special is its tranquil atmosphere. Unlike some of Boise's more popular parks that can get crowded, this residential hideaway tends to offer a more peaceful experience, making it ideal when you're craving a bit of calm.
Scenic Views
Find yourself a good spot in the park, and you'll be treated to beautiful views of the Boise Front rising majestically in the distance.
The park borders a water canal, with a high chain link fence providing necessary safety while adding to the park's distinctive boundary.
Dog-Friendly Areas
Good news for dog owners! Cypress Park includes a 1.4-acre section where your furry friends can run off-leash during specific hours. Following community feedback and a successful pilot program, this area east of the tennis courts, shelter, and playground (on the inside of the sidewalk) welcomes off-leash dogs from sunrise to 10:00 a.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to sunset.
Unlike traditional dog parks, there's no specific fencing for this section - it's an open field that gives dogs plenty of room to sprint and play during the designated hours. Just remember that outside these times, your pup needs to stay on a leash.
Playground Areas
The kids won't be disappointed with two separate playground areas divided by a covered picnic area. What makes these playsets stand out are unique features like a rope climbing wall and an exciting zipline - elements you won't find at every park in town.
The swing sets sit off to the side of the main equipment, giving kids plenty of space to soar through the air. While you'll notice some signs of regular use on the equipment, everything remains in good working condition and safe for play.
Amenities
Cypress Park includes all the essentials. You'll find tennis courts for those who enjoy a friendly match, a shelter with covered picnic tables good for family gatherings, and spacious grassy fields ideal for a pickup soccer game.
For your convenience, there are seasonal restrooms and drinking fountains available, as well as on-site parking that makes visiting a breeze.
