Elm Grove Park

Historic Roots

Spanning 3 acres, the park was developed in 1911 as part of Boise's Elm Grove Addition and was purchased by the city in 1920. The park is situated on W. Irene St., just a block away from the old Governor's mansion.

Unique Features

One of the park's distinctive features is an irrigation flume that bisects the property diagonally. This flume is still easily detectable as it rises across the park and features a paved bike and walking path on its top.

The park is known for its large shade trees, making it a popular spot for shady picnics and providing a cool respite during hot summer days.

Visitor Information

On-street parking is available for those driving to the park. It's worth noting that restrooms and park drinking fountains are closed during the winter months.

As with all City of Boise parks, smoking and vaping are prohibited in Elm Grove Park, including within 20 feet of the Boise River Greenbelt, except in designated areas within certain other parks and at city-owned golf courses.
