Historic Origins
East Park is a public green space located in the heart of East Nashville, Tennessee. Created in the aftermath of the East Nashville fire of 1916, the park occupies a 10-acre city block adjacent to downtown Nashville. It serves as a vital community gathering place and recreational area for local residents and visitors alike.
Modern Community Center
The park features a modern community center that was completed in 2006. This 33,000 square foot facility, situated at the corner of Woodland Street and 6th Street South, offers a range of amenities for visitors of all ages.
The community center was designed to blend contemporary concepts with the historic character of the surrounding Edgefield Historic District.
Recreational Amenities
East Park provides a mix of indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities. The outdoor areas include a playground for children, baseball fields, and an outdoor amphitheater, making it an ideal spot for family picnics and community events.
