Lake Washington Boulevard Park is a scenic urban park located along the eastern shore of Lake Washington in Seattle, Washington. Stretching approximately 8 miles (13 km) from the Washington Park Arboretum in the north to Seward Park in the south, this linear park offers visitors a picturesque route with views of the lake, small sections of rainforest, meadows, and the Cascade mountains in the distance.
Originally conceived as part of the Olmsted Brothers' 1903 comprehensive plan for Seattle's park system, Lake Washington Boulevard was designed to be a pleasure drive connecting several waterfront parks. The boulevard alternates between shoreline and upland stretches, featuring winding segments that navigate the area's varied topography.
Recreational Opportunities
The park provides access to multiple beaches, fishing piers, and boat launches along its route. It serves as a popular recreational corridor for walkers, joggers, cyclists, and drivers alike.
On select days throughout the year, portions of the boulevard are closed to vehicular traffic to allow for increased pedestrian and bicycle use.
