About the Location
Location and Layout
Nestled at the corner of Goslar Drive and Harmony Ridge Parkway in Vancouver, Washington, Harmony Ridge Park is a peaceful retreat that's easy to reach for folks living nearby. This 4.3-acre neighborhood space strikes a nice balance between natural spaces and recreational spots, with a walking/biking path that meanders through the grounds - excellent for when you need a casual stroll or want to get your steps in without hitting the gym.
Natural Features
The park's gently rolling landscape gives it character beyond your typical flat green space. Those natural slopes? They transform into popular sledding hills when winter brings a blanket of snow to Vancouver.
Tall Douglas fir trees stand majestically along the southern edge, creating pockets of shade during those hot summer afternoons. These mature trees not only add to the park's tranquil vibe but also provide a welcome respite from the sun when temperatures climb.
Park History and Design
Harmony Ridge came to life through the Greater Clark Parks District program established back in 2008.
Tucked thoughtfully into a corner hillside, the park's design successfully blends community gathering spaces with nature-inspired elements. It's a place where the neighborhood can come together, yet still feels like a quiet escape from the daily hustle.
Recreation Opportunities
Harmony Ridge provides various recreational options. Kids can burn off energy on the play equipment and swingset, while older children might gravitate toward the small skateboard area to practice their moves.
The park creates space for both active play and more relaxed leisure activities, making it suitable for visitors regardless of their energy level or age.
Amenities
Scattered around the grounds, you'll find several picnic tables and benches where you can sit back and relax, enjoy a packed lunch, or simply watch the kids play.
The large grassy area invites impromptu games of catch, family picnics, or just stretching out with a good book. You'll also find trash cans conveniently placed around the park.
Note that there are currently no restrooms or water fountains available, so you might want to plan accordingly before your visit.
