The Museum honors Día de los Muertos through its 28th annual exhibition. Each year, the community celebrates the holiday with community-built ofrendas—traditional altars, handcrafted and adorned with marigolds, photographs, candles, favorite foods, and personal mementos to welcome the spirits and celebrate their memory. The ofrendas create sacred thresholds between the living and those who have passed, each telling a story of love, loss, and remembrance. This year's exhibition features ofrendas by artists, city departments, local community groups, and schools, united by the belief that the departed are never truly gone, only absent. Everyone is invited to join in reflecting and remembering.

The City of Ontario's Department of Museum, Arts & Culture and the Chaffey Community Museum of Art are excited to announce the eighth annual Ontario Arts Festival. The Arts Festival averages 2,000 visitors annually and exemplifies the City's commitment to making Ontario the premier destination for arts and culture in the Inland Empire. The Ontario Arts Festival is located between the Ontario Museum of History & Art and the Chaffey Community Museum of Art at 217 S. Lemon Avenue, Ontario, CA. Browse and purchase from a wide range of artists and mediums across 60+ artist booths, including fine art, textiles, ceramics, digital art, photography, jewelry, metal, wood, and more. Participate in free hands-on workshops led by professional artists, view live demonstrations like clay throwing, painting, and quilting, and interact with temporary art experiences created especially for the festival. Visitors can also enjoy food available for purchase from local eateries, a bar catered by the Ontario Convention Center offering local brews and wines, live band performances throughout the day, and free entry to two museums: the Chaffey Community Museum of Art and the Ontario Museum of History & Art.

Celebrate Día de los Muertos in Ontario with an evening honoring loved ones, culture, and tradition. Community Altar on display October 24 – November 1. Main celebration on November 1 from 3 PM – 9 PM.

Experience story sharing through sound, cultural tradition, and Tongva story sharing with Jessa Calderon. You are invited to listen, reflect, and share stories inspired by Indigenous teachings and community memory. Participants will explore the use of traditional clapper sticks as tools for sound and expression. The program begins promptly at the stated time. Registration is recommended but not required.

Celebrate Día de los Muertos in partnership with the City of Ontario's Recreation & Community Services Department through an afternoon of art, culture, and community connection. Participate in a Catrina Contest, paint on bandanas using natural pigments made from cempasúchil flowers and cochineal with guest artist Cayetano Talavera, and experience face painting and traditions rooted in remembrance and storytelling. The celebration continues at the Euclid Avenue median, where the citywide procession brings the community together in a vibrant tribute honoring loved ones and cultural heritage, featuring a live performance by Adelaide Pilar and Danza Azteca Kalpulli Teuxhuitl. Food will be available for purchase.
