Bryn Mawr Meadows Park

Sports Facilities

This park offers a variety of athletic facilities with soccer fields, softball fields, tennis courts, and even a cricket field. It regularly hosts city and regional tournaments.

The softball/baseball fields got a serious upgrade recently, with two new fields sporting modern lighting. They're kept in great shape, making them popular spots for both casual pickup games and organized leagues.

When winter rolls around, the park transforms with an ice rink where broomball leagues battle it out. For the more adventurous, there's a newly built bike skills park with a natural surface trail loop and various obstacles that cater to cyclists whether you're just starting out or already a pro.

Trails and Connectivity

Walking and biking paths weave around the park, connecting to regional trails like Bassett's Creek, Cedar Lake, and the Luce Line trails. This makes it super easy to access from different parts of the city.

There's plenty of open space and trails fantastic for a leisurely stroll, bike ride, or scooter adventure. Dog owners will appreciate the ample room for their furry friends to stretch their legs in a relatively peaceful setting.

Views and Landscape

In some spots, you can catch amazing views of the Minneapolis skyline rising above the trees - that urban-meets-nature contrast is pretty special.

Just a heads up: the park sits in a bit of a low area, so parts can get soggy after rain. The grassy areas are generally well-kept though, offering plenty of space for activities like ultimate frisbee.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Kids will love the playground with separate areas for the little ones and a refreshing wading pool that's meant for those sweltering summer days. The playground equipment is modern and engaging - definitely enough to keep children entertained.

Planning a gathering? The park features picnic areas with charcoal grills and plenty of open space for group activities.

For restrooms, you'll find portable toilet stalls, however they're not near all playing fields. There's convenient off-street parking, but be prepared for a bit of a walk to reach some of the fields.

Environmental Features

Recent eco-friendly improvements include four infiltration ponds for better water management, a sprawling 9.5-acre native meadow, and a 6.5-acre pollinator-friendly lawn. These upgrades not only help with sustainability and stormwater management but also create beautiful natural spaces to enjoy.

You might spot some wildlife here too - Canadian geese are frequent visitors, especially around the playground area.
